Demo Chaleur

La semaine dernière, j'ai effectué une variété de démonstrations à propos  la chaleur et la température en se concentrant sur l'expansion et la contraction des particules avec les changements de température.

Last week I did a variety of lab demonstrations about heat and temperature focusing mainly on the expansion and contraction of particles with a change in temperature.  Here are the photos.

Ice Cream

Today in science we made ice cream to, not only study how salt mixed with ice lowers it's freezing point, but also the condensation on the outside of the bag of ice.

We also watched a Google Hangout where they went dog-sledding with Google Glass on for a virtual field trip.  Very cool!

Thermos Project

My grade 7 science class is studying heat and temperature and to go with our lesson on conductors and insulators I had then build a thermos!  They had to do a design plan, build it with every day materials in class, and then I tested them with boiling water.  The thermos that kept the temperature the most constant won a bonus mark!  It was a lot of fun.
