Just a little something I made in honour of my hero's birthday!
Just one more part of my plan to get him to come to my school!

Chris Hadfield is my hero
This school year we will be doing a lot of work on the scientific method and using technology in our class. With that in mind we are also going to do our best to see if we can convince the CSA and my hero, Chris Hadfield, to Skype or (OMG! PLEASE!) come to the school. We will shoot for the stars and still be happy to land among the clouds!
Chris Hadfield has opened up the universe to the entire world! I spent many morning last winter/spring waiting for my twitter feed for him to say "Good Morning Earth!" and show us some of the amazing things he has to share. His photos and perspective on the earth made me feel like we are all in "it" together. His brand of humour, music, and science is exactly what I love about being a science teacher! So we will figure out how to apply space sciences, the scientific method and experimental design, and Commander Chris Hadfield to our studies of the environment, plants, cells, the earth, chemistry, heat, water, architecture and physics, and so much more! I can't wait!
More details and the method to my madness TBA!
See my other blog post about him for more cool links and videos!

I just figured out how to make a QR code to post in my class for the first day of school and parent-orentiation so everyone can get connected to my blog! See http://www.visualead.com

La démarche scientifique / Scientific Method
All summer, other than relaxing, I have been thinking about how to teach the scientific method with my class this coming year. It is a basic foundation that isn't given any focus in the curriculum I teach so I have decided to revamp my class to be more lab focused. I am in the process of creating a new bulletin board and have a great lab write up template to go with it. My mom is a Super EA and is coming to set up my new science lab on Monday! Stay tuned! Download it from my google docs:
